Position: Housekeeper

Job Objective: Ensure that facilities and grounds are safe, clean, neat and appealing.

General Summary: To proactively work as a full-time (40 hrs/wk) member of the housekeeping team to ensure the health, safety and well-being of all the buildings within Norwalk Catholic School.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Practicing Catholic Preferred: Help carry on the mission of Christ’s church.
  • Must successfully pass the required background check and all requirements of the Toledo Diocese VIRTUS program prior to employment and maintain a satisfactory background check throughout employment
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Available to work a non-traditional schedule and irregular hours when required.
  • Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks.
  • Performs general custodial duties including but not limited to: mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning carpets, waxing floors, disinfecting, emptying trash and washing windows/glass areas.
  • Operates custodial equipment such as industrial sweepers and uses a variety of cleaning and sanitizing agents in performing assigned tasks.
  • Inspects condition of restroom facilities, cleans restrooms and replenishes supplies daily.
  • Maintains appearance of various areas by dusting and cleaning all wood areas, desks, tables, bookshelves.
  • Responds to, reports and removes any safety hazards.
  • Reports damage to property.
  • Responds to emergency cleanups such as spills and clogged drains.
  • Provides set-up, teardown and clean-up for meetings and other functions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

POSITION: SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Job Objective:Serves as a substitute teacher for Norwalk Catholic Schools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Hold a current Ohio Department of Education Substitute license/certification
  • Must successfully pass the required background check and all requirements of the Toledo Diocese VIRTUS program prior to employment and maintain a satisfactory background check throughout employment
  • Maintain excellent classroom behavior management
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
  • Provide exemplary communication skills to parents, staff, and stakeholders
  • Work well with fellow staff members in a professional learning community to ensure what is best for our students
  • Build positive, productive, professional, relationships with students
  • Have an understanding of technology pertinent to the classroom including Google Docs, Microsoft Office, Smart Technologies, PowerSchool, and document cameras
