Accreditations
NCS is a member of the National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) and is fully accredited by the:
- Ohio Board of Education
- Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OCSAA)

We are proud that Norwalk Catholic School was the first Catholic K-12 school in the state of Ohio to receive accreditation from the OCSAA.
AP Courses/PSEOP Classes
The SPH curriculum includes two Advanced Placement (AP) courses: AP U.S. Government and Politics and AP English Literature and Composition. Students who wish to take an AP class cannot have an “F” in any subject on their grade card during the year prior to taking the class, need to have an A in the prerequisite classes, and obtain teacher permission. All AP students are required to take the AP exam, where the scores can range from a 1 to a 5. Scores of 3 orhigher are eligible to receive college credit through the individual college the student attends. Grades in these classes are figured on a 4.6 point scale to provide a weighted award because of course difficulty.
Students may enroll in college courses for high school and/or college credits. In order to be eligible for the Post Secondary Education Options Program (PSEOP), the student must be accepted at the college (which includes a minimum GPA set by the particular college) and pass a placement test given by the college. Our students typically take classes at BGSU Firelands or as a web-based course through Owens Community College. At the time of registration, the School Counselor provides more information to parents and students regarding participation in this program.
